Dr Helmut Marko has played down reports of trouble with Red Bull's new engine partner Honda.

A few days ago there were reports that the Honda engine had issues with vibration at high velocity. It has now been reported by Auto Bild that Honda and Austrian technical partner, Avl, have split after a disagreement amongst engineers.

Red Bull's Marko confirmed the split and also revealed that Honda and ex-Mercedes engine chief Mario Illien is also no longer involved.

"Appropriate measures were taken to solve the problem," Marko was quoted by sportsmole.co.uk.

The Red Bull advisor also believes that "Honda has already overtaken Renault and will be even better in 2019."

"Max (Verstappen) will have everything he needs. He is improving all the time. There seems to be no limit for him."

Maroko believes that "to find a solution, the right precautions have been taken already."
