In a fan Q&A he did, Renault's Nico Hülkenberg had a very cheeky response when asked how the Daniel Ricciardo-news affected him, as the Aussie will join the Hulk at the French team in 2019.

Hülkenberg hasn't been that long at Renault himself, as he just completed his second season there, but Ricciardo will be his third teammate already. Jolyon Palmer was replaced by Carlos Sainz Junior during the 2017-season, and the Spaniard will now get replaced by Ricciardo, who makes the switch from Red Bull.

During the aforementioned Q&A, one fan asked Hülkenberg how he felt when hearing the news of Ricciardo.

"I was devastated, I was on the floor, I was crying. It really hit me hard!" the 31-year-old said with a big smile on his face.

"No, I was okay with it," he then added on a more serious note.

"I got a phone call the day before, it was good news."

A seven-time Grand Prix winner, Ricciardo could elevate Renault to another level next season, as the works team secured the 'best-of-the-rest' title in 2018 in their third year after coming back to F1.
