Renault has appointed Thierry Koskas as the new Renault Sport president replacing Jerome Stoll. Koskas will take the helm of the team from the 1st January 2019. Renault will be optimistic ahead of next season with the arrival of Daniel Ricciardo from Red Bull.

Koskas has worked at Renault since 1997, leading several different divisions in his time with the French manufacturer, the most recent position he has held being Renault's executive vice-president of sales and marketing, a role he took over in 2016.

In a small statement by the team, they said Koskas would "bring the team to the highest level of the discipline" as they continue their chase of the top three teams in F1: Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull.

Renault is on course for their best finish in the constructors' championship since returning to the sport with a fourth-place finish in the championship standings.
