Leclerc wants informing of blocking rules

Sauber driver Charles Leclerc wants clarification of the rules when it comes to blocking opponents following an incident with Haas' Kevin Magnussen in Japan a couple of weeks ago.

Leclerc, 21, was left puzzled by the stewards' decision not to penalise Magnussen for the collision, which took place in the early stages of the Japanese Grand Prix.

The FIA said that Magnussen moved the same time as Leclerc and didn't do anything illegal, but the future Ferrari driver did not agree.

Leclerc apologised for calling Magnussen "stupid" on his Sauber team radio, but he believes the matter is still not fully resolved.

"Obviously in the heat of the moment, probably regret a little bit saying what I said on the radio, because that was probably a bit extreme," Leclerc told The Checkered Flag.

"But I stay on what I said outside of the car - for me, this is a wrong move, and I don't really get why he has not been penalised."

Leclerc claimed that all he wants is clarification to the rules regarding this matter.

"I will speak about this in the briefing tomorrow to just understand what the position of Charlie (Whiting, Racing Director, FIA), on how to defend, because if we can do that then I can also do that. But for me, it's a bit on the limit. I will ask tomorrow to know more."
