Force India set for Singapore upgrades!

Racing Point Force India made a brilliant start to their F1 journey last week with fifth and sixth place in Belgium to pick up 18 points, and chief operating officer Otmar Szafnauer has revealed that the team have more upgrades to come for the race in Singapore next month.

Force India have been reborn as Racing Point Force India and have had all their points pre Belgium taken away, forcing them to start again in terms of the Constructors’ Championship.

Their Spa performance has seen them already leapfrog Williams and they now sit one point behind Sauber.

Toro Rosso are 12 points ahead with McLaren a further 22 up the road. It is very unlikely that they will catch Haas or Renault, so sixth place looks like the best they can hope for.

Some new upgrades will certainly help their cause, and Szafnauer has said that upgrades are exactly what the team will be getting ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.

He said: “We have more performance to introduce to the car over the next few events, hopefully starting from Singapore.”

He also spoke about this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, saying: “We head to Monza determined to deliver more points. We need to keep up the momentum from Spa. Monza is all about top speed and stability on the brakes, and I think it will play to our strengths.”
