'Former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat faces return'

Former Red-Bull driver Daniil Kvyat is facing a return to 'single seater' racing. The Russian will soon start driving his first laps in Formula E, writes The-race.com.

Kvyat did not get the illustrious Formula 1 career he hoped for. The 28-year-old man from Ufa made the move to big brother Red Bull after two seasons at Toro Rosse, where he became a teammate of Daniel Ricciardo. The three-time podium finisher showed he was fast, but often drove recklessly and eventually lost his seat to Max Verstappen a year later.

'Kvyat will test in Formula E'

After the 2019 season, Kvyat disappeared off the radar for many Formula 1 fans. The driver has since been driving his laps in LMP-2, among others. Kelly Piquet's ex, now Max Verstappen's partner, will reportedly test for Formula E team NIO 333 in Berlin later this month. If successful, Kvyat could potentially seize a permanent seat in the electric racing class in the 2023/2024 season.
