Magnussen happy at Haas: "Couldn't ask for more"

Haas F1's Kevin Magnussen has said he's happy where he is at the American team, as it is as good as it gets for a team that's not fighting for championships.

Haas are making big strides for a small team like themselves, with the outfit now sitting in fifth in the constructors' championship. Magnussen is carrying the team, with the Dane scoring 45 of the team's 66 points, as Romain Grosjean has been doing Romain Grosjean things this season.

On a personal level, Magnussen sits in P8 in the drivers' championship, second out of all the midfield drivers. He's thrived this year with Haas having a much more competitive car than before, and even though his driving still can be overly aggressive at times, he's turned the heads of many teams.

Even Ferrari were reportedly in for him at some point, but the Italians seem to have settled on either Kimi Raikkonen or Charles Leclerc for next season. Still, Magnussen is happy where he is, as the other big teams haven't come knocking on his door.

“What do you want if you’re not in a top team, that can’t fight for wins and championships?" he asked Autosport in his typically cynical style.

“It’s a stable team that gives you a good car, that can still fight for points and still fight for that Class B championship.

“I probably have the best car of the trailing teams.

"I couldn’t ask for more.”
