Nico Hulkenberg has scored points in every race he has finished this year and has even more reason to score in what is Renault’s first home race for a decade.

Hulkenberg has a good record in his home Grand Prix, finishing in the points four times in five races in Germany, and is hoping to bring that form this weekend in front of his team’s home crowd.

“I’m very much looking forward to racing at Circuit Paul Ricard.” said Hülkenberg.

"It’s been a long time coming for Renault, 10 years since their last race on home soil, so I’m carrying that extra level of motivation to do the job proud on track.”

Many F1 drivers have not driven at Paul Ricard for plenty of years, but the German has more recent experience of the track, having driven there ahead of the Le Mans 24h in 2015, which he won.

“I know the circuit quite well actually, so it’s not like going in totally blind. I’ve driven a few laps there back when I was preparing for the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours.” he said.

Renault fans will be hoping to see Hulkenberg keep up his excellent form, that has seen him score 32 points from the first seven races this season, this weekend in the South of France.
