Horner: Red Bull "makes Ferrari and Mercedes nervous"

2018-06-13 16:30:11 by Nicolás Quarles van Ufford

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner thinks that the team makes the likes of Mercedes and Ferrari nervous due to their 'maverick' nature, as the Bulls have taken two wins out of seven already this season.

The opening third of the season is over, and with Red Bull having taken two wins already, it's safe to say that the team's resurgence has continued in 2018, as they only won three races in the entirety of 2017.

Horner is happy to report that the team is starting to take the fight to Ferrari and Mercedes for a genuine three-team championship battle.

“We’ve got a little brother in Toro Rosso and Red Bull has always been a bit of a maverick team,” Horner explained to Sky Sports F1.

“It has always gone against the grain and has never been controllable by Ferrari and Mercedes.

“This is probably why they see us as such a threat so it’s probably why we make them nervous.”
