Williams will say goodbye to Nicholas Latifi at the end of the season. The Canadian could not live up to expectations in recent years and therefore has to make way. Although Latifi regrets it, he does not feel he could have got more out of it.
From 2020, Latifi could be found at Williams. In his first and third seasons, he failed to bring in any points for his team, while in 2021 he was good for seven points. Nevertheless, Latifi feels he has shown enough. " I am definitely satisfied with what I have done in that sense," he revealed to The Race.
"In a way, it made it easier for me to accept the decision because I don't really regret how I went about the job. It just didn't work out," Latifi states. "If I had to do it all over again, I probably wouldn't have done anything differently."
Williams hard at work looking for successor
Williams still did not reveal who Latifi's replacement will be. While first Nyck de Vries was high on the list, it seems strongly likely that the British formation will opt for Logan Sargeant. De Vries will reportedly make the switch to AlphaTauri.
