The race on the street circuit was cancelled twice due to the coronavirus pandemic but can occur 'normally' this year. The evening race is loved by many drivers, as the tight and twisty circuit demands a lot from the drivers.

For the first time, Verstappen can secure his second world title. With a 116-point lead, it seems more of a question of when than if Verstappen will win the title, but in Singapore, for the first time, it could happen. To do so, Verstappen does need to win the race and is then also dependent on the performances of Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez. Singapore's first free practice session will be held at 18:00 local time.
