Lewis Hamilton has joined the ownership group of the American NFL team Denver Broncos. The Brit already let it be known during the race weekend in Hungary that he had fun plans for the four-week summer break.

No financial details have been released on the deal, but the so-called Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group announced Hamilton's arrival in a brief statement.

"We’re delighted to welcome Sir Lewis Hamilton to our ownership group. He is a champion competitor who knows what it takes to lead a winning team and a fierce advocate for global equality, including in his own sport. With over 100 race wins, Lewis is considered the most successful F1 driver of all time. His resilient spirit and standard of excellence will be an asset to the ownership group and the Broncos organisation", reads the statement.

Hamilton owner of many companies

The NFL team won the Super Bowl in 2016, a game that was attended by Hamilton. The seven-time world champion is constantly expanding his portfolio, as he also owns restaurant chain Neat Burger, Extreme E-team X44 and foundation Mission 44.

Earlier this year, Hamilton made a bid for English football club Chelsea, but that was ultimately rejected. So now the Brit seems to be focusing on American football. Hamilton can often be found in America, because he has a house there.
