Magnussen will put his life on the line in midfield battle

It is common knowledge that Kevin Magnussen is unlikely to let you overtake him easily in Formula One, and the Dan has backed this belief up with a set of stunning claims, saying that he would put everything at risk in Haas’ current midfield battle.

Magnussen has 11 points this season, a relatively disappointing total considering Haas’ early season promise.

He was responding to criticism from Toro Rosso driver Pierre Gasly, who described Magnussen as “the most dangerous guy I ever raced”.

“I race hard, in a situation like this with a midfield team, you’re not guaranteed to score points,” he explained. “And sometimes you have nothing to lose.

“I don’t like compromises. I will give everything, I will die in the car.

“I won’t hold back, I would put my life on (the line). Absolutely. When you put your helmet on and you’re in the race, I find that’s just everything there is in the world.

“I love my family and there’s so many things in life I enjoy, but when I’m in the car there’s nothing else that means anything.”
