Last Wednesday Lewis Hamilton was knighted at Windsor Castle in London. Bernie Ecclestone comments on the new honorary title of the British driver. He does not think that the Briton has done anything special.

The former F1 boss does not think Hamilton's performance is enough to deserve such a title, despite his seven world titles.

"I don't think they have knighted many people, because this knighthood has existed for many years for people who have done something for the country", he told Germany's RTL.

"The people who are knighted today just earn a lot of money and donate it to charities, but they have done nothing for the country in particular", he continues.

With these words, Ecclestone shares a harsh sneer at Sir Lewis Hamilton. The Briton is not the first F1 driver to be knighted. Jack Brabham, Jackie Stewart and Striling Moss preceded him.
