A third place in the final ranking is already out of sight for Alpine. In fact, with Alpine it will be a tough job to keep AlphaTauri behind. Both teams have 112 points, but Alpine is in fifth place because of Ocon's victory. Will it stay that way?
Tough job
Fernando Alonso expects a tough job: "We have to improve if we want to beat them," said the Frenchman during the press conference in Qatar, states Formel1.de. He indicates AlphaTauri can no longer keep up at pure speed. "They are sometimes faster than McLaren and Ferrari."
The Frenchman does have a claim to one prize for the time being. He leads the ranking for most overtakes. "I would rather start from a better position on the grid and drive in the top three without overtaking. Apparently we have a better pace in the race than in qualifying. I have to find out what the reward is," Alonso laughed according to Motorsport-magazin.
