Vettel still uncomfortable at Aston Martin: 'I really miss some speed'

Sebastian Vettel finally seemed to have the feel with his Aston Martin in Portugal, but the performance in Spain was disappointing again. The German feels more comfortable in his car, but still not 100 percent.

The 2021 Spanish Grand Prix is not one that will be in Vettel's scrapbook. The German qualified 13th, again behind his teammate, and did not climb a single place in the race. The four-times world champion is therefore still without points, which is not what he expected.

Vettel not satisfied yet

''I really miss some speed to be able to fight for the points. We could have done something different here and there in the race in Spain with the knowledge of now. All in all, it's probably a realistic representation of the position we're in at the moment,'' the German told Motorsport.com. The differences are small between all the midfielders though, so Vettel also sees plenty of opportunities.

''It's very close. Every weekend is different. Alpine was not strong in the race, I expected them to be much faster. AlphaTauri was much faster in the race than on Saturday. You have to feel comfortable in the car, and the track has to suit your car, to be able to find just that one or two tenths extra,'' Vettel concludes.
