Not a single metre has been driven during the test yet, but the season has already started with a setback for the Alfa Romeo F1 team. Team boss Frédéric Vasseur has tested positive for coronavirus and will not be able to attend the tests in Bahrain.

The team announced this in a statement. A few days ago Vasseur tested positive for COVID19 and although the same test two days later gave a negative result, the Frenchman stayed home in the interest of safety in the F1 paddock.

Operational

The team states that Vasseur will be fully operational as he will be connected to the garage during the test. That is also the reason why no one else has been appointed to take over Vasseur's duties, as he will be able to participate in all activities via the internet.
