The Grand Prix of Portugal seemed to be held with a large number of fans for a long time. However, the situation around the corona virus worsened in the vicinity of Portimao and so it was questionable whether there would be fans at the race. The circuit has announced today that there will be fans, but a lot less than expected.
In Portugal, the measures have been tightened up and, as a result, the organisers of the Grand Prix has decided to reduce the number of spectators per day from 46000 to 27500. As a result, the number of people allowed to attend the Grand Prix is almost halved.
What about the other races?
After Portimao, the F1 paddock goes in the direction of Imola and Istanbul. At the race in Imola there will be spectators present, but with the second wave now underway in many European countries, the question remains whether it is really smart. In Turkey they have already made this decision and it has come out that no fans are allowed to be present at the Turkish Grand Prix.
