No Grand Prix for Hulkenberg? "Perez will be tested tomorrow"

Last weekend it was announced that Sergio Perez tested positive for the coronavirus. The Mexican from Racing Point was forced to watch Nico Hülkenberg take over his duties at Silverstone. Due to a problem with the car the German could not participate in the Grand Prix and there is a chance he will not drive this weekend. Perez will be tested again for the coronavirus.

On Thursday the Mexican will be tested again, after he has had to spend seven days in quarantine at home. Next F1-journalist Albert Fabrega might just as well allow Perez to compete in the second Grand Prix at Silverstone, under the condition that Perez tests negative for the coronavirus. This would mean that Hulkenberg wouldn't have been able to race for Racing Point, despite his presence on Friday and Saturday.

Perez important to the team?

During the Grand Prix of Great Britain it became clear that Perez is of great value to the team. During the first Grands Prix both drivers were at the front of the field, but during the absence of Perez, Lance Stroll was fighting in midfield. So the whole team will hope that Perez will be able to return soon, to be behind the wheel during the second Grand Prix of Silverstone.
