Second place in the Grand Prix of Hungary came as a big surprise to Max Verstappen. The Dutchman thought his race was over before the start.

“My wheels locked, then I released the brake and tried again, then my wheels locked again and I went straight to the wall. I already struggled with the grip. I thought the race was over then, but I managed to get it out of the wall and bring it to the grid. It is a certain mentality. I could jump out of there, but the mechanics still managed to repair it, they did a fantastic job," said Verstappen during the press conference.

Correct choices during the race

“So I was very happy to start the race. The first round was already very good, we have followed the right strategy and to split the Mercedes after such a difficult weekend is a great result that we certainly did not expect," the Dutchman concludes.
