Guenther Steiner targeting going "back to basics" in 2020

Guenther Steiner says that Haas F1 have no targets for 2020 apart from getting back to business and improving on their disastrous season last year. Haas could only finish ninth in the standings in 2019, after a promising season the year before and they'll be looking to move back into the midfield battle.

Steiner was visibly frustrated in 2019 as Haas were often able to qualify well but fell back in the race, barely scoring points in the second half of the season.

He is hoping for a return to form for the team but refuses to set a specific target. He told media including GPBlog at the second test in Barcelona: "We're slowly getting to see where we stand. We're just waiting to jump to conclusions. We don't know what 'fast' is. All cars are faster, but in terms of speed it's hard to say.

"There is no target, like fifth or sixth, we want to be better and more consistent than last year. Target for this year is back to basic, less up and downs and more solid performance."
