F1 LIVE | Brazilian Grand Prix - Will Mercedes fight back after poor qualifying?

2019-11-17 17:00:00 by Matt Gretton

The penultimate race of the 2019 F1 season is here. Lewis Hamilton might have wrapped up the Formula 1 world championship for a sixth time last time out, but there are still places to fight for up and down the grid. Once again, they'll be three different constructors in the top three grid slots so it's going to be a busy start to the race. Follow our liveblog below.

Who will lead going into turn one?

Max Verstappen has put himself in the best possible position but will he lead going into turn one? With Sebastian Vettel and Hamilton taking the two places behind the Dutchman, you can bet on them being eager to get ahead of the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing which has less power with its Honda engine.

Verstappen will want this more than any driver on the grid after the drama of last season's edition so expect a proper battle into the first corner!

Third place in the drivers' championship

Charles Leclerc, Verstappen and Vettel are in with a chance of clinching third place. Leclerc is the only man who can seal the position this weekend as he currently has a 14 point lead over the two chasing drivers. Racing Point are just one point ahead of Toro Rosso in the constructors' championship while McLaren are able to wrap up 'best of the rest' with just a few points required to keep Renault out.
