Typhoon Hagibis is set to disrupt a lot of the sporting events in Japan this weekend. The Rugby World Cup has cancelled two of their games on Saturday and the qualifying session at the Japanese Grand Prix is under serious threat.

The Typhoon is set to hit during Saturday and organizers of the Grand Prix are already making changes to try and ensure the Grand Prix goes ahead. The entire Formula 4 program is set to be canceled to create time for other sessions to overrun or be moved.

Saturday is set to be the most impacted day so qualifying could be moved to Sunday morning. The FIA have released a statement and we will update you when things become clearer.

“We are keeping a close eye on typhoon Hagibis and do everything we can to minimize the disruption of the Formula 1 scheme. However, the safety of fans, participants and everyone on the circuit is our priority."
