Lewis Hamilton may be the dominant force in F1 but he has picked out the Canadian Grand Prix as one of the top three races on the calendar ahead of the race this weekend.

Hamilton has won four races in 2019, in Bahrain, China, Spain and Monaco giving him a 17 point advantage in the Drivers' Championship, over his teammate Valtteri Bottas.

His record in Canada has been impeccable winning six times in Montreal since making his debut in Formula 1 in 2007. He is one behind the record number of wins at the race, Michael Schumacher has seven.

Speaking at the pre-race press conference Hamilton said he was excited about returning to Canada and the track on offer: "The circuit is fantastic and it’s a track that I think everyone enjoys. It’s definitely in the top three of the favourite circuits of the year.

"From a driver’s perspective, the track is awesome.

"It’s a bit go-kart-esque, with great long straights, so you can overtake, and you’re throwing the car over these big, huge kerbs around the track and there are not massive run-off areas, so it’s a bit of a high-speed street circuit, which is great."
