Vandoorne on "busiest" period of his life

Stoffel Vandoorne may not be a Formula 1 driver anymore, but the Belgian is certainly keeping himself busy, reflecting on his current state as the "busiest" period of his life.

Vandoorne was driving for McLaren last season, but an underwhelming season in the orange car meant he'd be axed and replaced by rookie Lando Norris. The Belgian now drives for HWA Racelab in Formula E, where he recorded one pole and one podium finish in his debut season.

HWA has links with Mercedes, and now Vandoorne shares simulation duties with Esteban Ocon for the Silver Arrows. Despite Vandoorne being the busiest he's ever been - he has insisted he is enjoying the responsibility of the different forms of motorsport.

"I'm probably having the busiest time in my life now," Vandoorne said to Crash.net"I've never been so busy before. It's nice to go from race to race and have different challenges. Next week, we have Monaco in Formula E again, so it's definitely no rest. I'm enjoying it.

"I've driven a lot of different cars in the past, and I've been racing in a lot of different series, and to do this one is kind of another box ticked. It's a nice one, LMP1, here at Spa, my home race, but then also to be able to do Le Mans will be another special event."
