Daniil Kvyat: "It was just a normal racing incident"

Daniil Kvyat believes that the drive through penalty he recieved after his first lap incident with Carlos Sainz was unfair. The Toro Rosso driver believes that it was a racing incident that happens all the time during Formula 1 racing.

“It was not definitely fair. I think there was no penalty at all, not even close to a drive through, so I disagree with that,” Kvyat said to Read Motorsport.

“We will discuss with steward behind closed doors. What happened there? I am curious, without doubt, I will prove my point of view to them.

“It was a very usual Lap 1 incident, just three cars in one corner. I left enough space to at least one of them, honestly, I fell I did everything right.”

Kvyat will hope that the stweards see things from his point of view but this is unlikely. Having failed to finish the race, the Toro Rosso driver will hope that he can perform like Albon did in China in Baku.
