Marcus Ericsson admits DRS is the last thing he misses since Formula 1 departure

Marcus Ericsson doesn't miss DRS since leaving Formula 1. The former Sauber driver is now active in the American IndyCar series. Formula 1 announced on Wednesday that there will be a third additional DRS zone in Bahrain this weekend.

Ericsson has some bad memories after deploying the DRS. For example, in 2018 he crashed hard during free practice at Monza when his rear wing refused to collapse while he wanted to brake for the first chicane.

In a tweet, he commented that he thinks it's a bad idea to introduce more DRS zones after the news broke.

"Not sure about this. One of the great things I’ve found in @IndyCar so far is the fact we don’t have DRS means there is so much more proper fights on track wheel to wheel and corner to corner. You don’t “wait” for a DRS zone to overtake, you just go for it when you get the chance," Ericcson said.

More overtaking we hear you say? Well, Ericsson has an answer for that as well.
