Unlucky Sainz: "I've had a weekend full of back luck"

Carlos Sainz will definitely be hoping for better luck next time out in Bahrain than he got in Australia this weekend.

In qualifying his lap was hampered by Robert Kubica’s struggling Williams, leading to a Q1 exit and then in the race he suffered engine issues and was forced to retire.

After the race the Spaniard told Movistar F1: "It's a shame because the race was going well. I had done what I had to do, a good start to fight for the points. Seeing where Stroll has finished and where Kvyat has finished today proves that the points were possible after my departure."

Despite the disappointing end to his weekend, Sainz remained positive about his chances in Bahrain in two weeks: “I hope this is the end of my bad luck and in Bahrain we can score points.”
