Lewis Hamilton was favourite for the race after his sublime qualifying session yesterday, but he could only manage second in the Australian Grand Prix.

Towards the end of the race, his second place was looking under threat from Max Verstappen. The flying Dutchman was told to target the Silver Arrow in the final 10 laps.

"The attack by Verstappen was not a problem," Hamilton said confidently after the race.

He tipped his hat to team-mate Valtteri Bottas who stormed to victory in Melbourne.

“It's a good result from the team and Bottas rode a great race and he deserves it. This is a great start to the season and this is really good for the team," Hamilton added.
