With Max Verstappen acting as the flag-bearer, Formula 1 is currently getting younger and younger in terms of drivers. Esteban Ocon, Daniil Kvyat, Lance Stroll and Lando Norris all moved into Formula 1 as teenagers and some of that work is down to Franz Tost.

Tost sees it all develope and suggests the fathers are the real problem! He jokes that it's like kindergarten.

"The drivers are not the problem, but all those fathers you get are the problem," Tost jokingly explains to Motorsport.

"When you see Jos and Lawrence walking around the grounds, you still have the feeling that you are walking around in a playground."

"The riders, on the other hand, are a huge step forward. They are much more prepared. However, they have to work with a lot of engineers and continuously provide information, which is not possible in the younger categories. You do not want to overload those talents, because then they are broken before the race starts. For the first few races you really have to prepare those guys, because that is not an easy task," Tost concludes.
