Are Ferrari planning a management shake-up for 2019?

Reports have suggested that Rob Smedley could be moving back to Ferrari after parting ways with Williams. Smedley was famously Felipe Massa's race engineer before the "Fernando is faster than you" incident in 2010 cropped up.

However, Smedley claims he is yet to decide on his future in Formula 1. Speed Week report that he could become the head of car development at Ferrari next season. In the interview, he talks about his home in Modena.

"I'm going on holiday there in January if that helps. I would say at this moment in time I'm not closing off any options," Smedley said.

Further changes have already been on the rumour mill. Jock Clear, currently a senior performance engineer, may well become Charles Leclerc's race engineer.

"I've recently made a long-term commitment to the team, and as such, I will use my skill-set wherever we feel that's best," Clear said.

If that was to happen, Laurent Mekies will be expected to fill Clear's current role. Mekies is currently Charlie Whiting's deputy race director at the FIA.
