Kimi Raikkonen: "I'm happier than finishing second"

Kimi Raikkonen has finally won a race! It took the Finn 113 races, but he's finally managed it. In typical Ice Man style, the Ferrari driver was cool and collected in the interview's following the United States Grand Prix.

Raikkonen found some grip off the start line and managed to overtake Lewis Hamilton in the opening stages of the race. From there, via a pit-stop, it was pretty much plain sailing for the Finn. He spoke to former driver and Sky Sports pundit Martin Brundle after the race.

"It's been a great weekend, the car has been good all weekend. I got a good start and at the end, I needed to push. The tyres were maybe not in the best place but it was similar for Max [Verstappen]," Raikkonen said.

"It's been a long time but here we are again. I'm much happier than finishing second, I'm happy but let's see later on."

Hamilton could have won the World Championship this evening, but his third-place finish wasn't enough. Raikkonen managed to back him up him in the early stages of the race which eventually paid costly for Hamilton.

"It was a big balancing act with the tyres. We did it well enough to win and we had good battles which is what we want," Raikkonen added.
