Sauber announced Ferrari academy driver Antonio Giovinazzi will race full-time alongside Kimi Raikkonen in 2019. The 24-year-old has already competed in two F1 races back in 2017.

The Italian made his debut in the 2017 Australian Grand Prix driving Pascal Wehrlien's car who felt ill prior to the race start. Giovinazzi finished the race in 12 but it was the following Grand Prix where the young man made the headlines.

In qualifying, he crashed heavily alone approaching the home-straight. The following day he made it past the final corner but crashed under the start lights. Watch the videos to see what happened.
