Italian GP weather watch! Friday washout?

2018-08-30 16:45:52 by Adam Newton

Drivers and teams could face a difficult day of practice tomorrow with heavy rain set to hit the Monza track.

However, unlike last week in Belgium, the rain is not expected to stick around until qualifying, and the forecast suggests that after the downpour on Friday, it will be dry and sunny, which is more like what we’re used to seeing at the Italian Grand Prix.

Although the rain is set to disappear during the early hours of Saturday morning, the lower temperatures are set to hang around for the majority of the weekend, which will have an effect on how the cars run due to the lower expected track temperature.

Air temperatures are set to reach the low to mid twenties during qualifying, and slightly warmer on race day, leading to track temperatures in the high thirties.

Hopefully this can shake up the grid a bit and make for an interesting race in what is sure to be a crucial race in the championship battle!
