According to Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner, his team is too often and too easily portrayed as the bad guys. The team boss speculates and wonders if this is because there are no British drivers in his team. Horner also opens up about a 'underhanded' competitor.

In conversation with Inews.com Indeed, the Briton notes that he misses the connection between Red Bull and the British F1 audience. With Dutch driver, Max Verstappen, and Mexican driver, Sergio Perez, Red Bull may lack the proper connection.

'Backstabbing competitor is like Kardashians on wheels'

Horner: "If we had a British driver like a certain team in Brackley [It would be different]. We are too easily seen as the bad guys." According to the Medium, Horner has a point. Red Bull was seen as the culprit of Abu Dhabi 2021, while the race control had all the responsibility over it. Verstappen then won the championship from Lewis Hamilton. In addition, the criticism of Red Bull after the "minor" exceeding of the budget limit would be disproportionate to the offence.

Horner himself says: "It tainted us. These things get used by your rivals. We had one of them contacting our sponsors and partners making suggestions that we would be bringing their brands into disrepute. That was just underhand." Horner summed up the situation, saying a pat on the back is not far away from a kick up the arse. Horner sums up the situation: "This is like The Kardashians on wheels."
