Lewis Hamilton has been driving a Mercedes engine his entire Formula One career and will continue to do so until he quits. Despite being a fan of Ferrari, he explains why he will never make the switch.

Hamilton made his debut in Formula 1 on behalf of McLaren-Mercedes in 2007. The Briton had been associated with McLaren's program since 1998, after Ron Dennis watched the talented driver kart. Despite a switch in 2013, the seven-time world champion always remained loyal to Mercedes.

No Ferrari for Hamilton

In conversation with Corriere della Sera Hamilton explains that he is a fan of Ferrari and will therefore cheer for Charles Leclerc instead of Max Verstappen. That the driver with a record number of wins, poles and world titles calls himself a Ferrari fan is of course special, but he will never drive for the Italian team.

Indeed, he shows a tattoo on his arm that reads ''Loyalty''. ''Of course it would be nice to race for Ferrari during my career, but things happen because of a reason. Mercedes is my family. I will always be a Mercedes driver, just like Stirling Moss'', concludes the Mercedes driver.
