It's too early to draw any conclusions before the new Formula 1 season has begun, but it seems clear that Red Bull Racing have improved on last year's results. Technical director Pierre Wache explains on 'What the Tech' how the team is faring ahead of the first Grand Prix weekend.

Basically a lot has stayed the same, because the main structure of the cars has remained unchanged. There are, however, many aerodynamic changes. So far it seems that these have been successful at Red Bull Racing, and the team are even taking some updates with them for the first race.

Trouble-free start for Red Bull so far

"Development for the first free practice of the season starts already after the first day of testing," Wache said. "We're not waiting until after the last test session. We have tested many different parts to understand what works and what doesn't."

He continued: "That way we know which direction to go with the first updates. We will try to bring the first small updates already to the first race of the season."
