Ferrari have had a tough year in 2020. Gerhard Berger believes a lot more needs to be done if the team wants to return to winning ways and goes as far to say that the team needs a philosophy change.

Speaking to Motorsport Magazine the Austrian explained that Ferrari must abandon their philosophy in order to become a champion again. "When I drove there, the big dream was that Ferrari, as an Italian team, should win championships with only Italians."

"In contemporary culture, however, this is not possible. You need the best mechanics in the world. Then nationality should not matter.

"If you look at the time with Michael Schumacher, you also had Ross Brawn on the team, an Englishman. Jean Todt was the best in political decisions and he is French.

"The best man in aerodynamics was Rory Byrne and he was from South Africa. The best driver at Ferrari was Michael Schumacher and he was German. Todt managed to get it all together and Michael managed to steal a lot of people for his team. With this they managed to find the perfect international team and as a result they achieved successes."
