Briatore about his Corona infection: "Hysteria is inappropriate"

The Italian businessman Flavio Briatore has always been a great critic of the measures taken in connection with the Corona virus, and his own infection has done little to change that. The former Formula 1 team boss is still critical and calls the hysteria surrounding the pandemic inappropriate.

Briatore (70) talks about his infection in a video on his Instagram. "I was sick maybe two days. It was much less serious than pneumonia. I don't want to downplay the disease, I just want to tell you what happened to me". The Italian was treated at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, but has been home for some time now.

He is still critical of the way people are dealing with the virus. "We all have to be reasonable," continues Briatore in his video. "The hysteria is inappropriate and the daily publication of the number of infected people only caused panic. We need to revitalise the economy and talk about concrete problems caused by the virus," he says, citing poverty and unemployment as examples.
