Sergio Perez has a good chance of returning to the paddock. The Mexican, who tested positive for the coronavirus last week, should be allowed to race with a negative test, according to the health organisation in England.

Is Perez back?

Perez tested positive for the corona virus prior to the British Grand Prix and was replaced that weekend by Nico Hulkenberg. It was assumed that Hulkenberg would also be in action in the second race, due to a ten day quarantine period in case of a positive test. However, this does not appear to be the case now.

Racing Point states in a statement that the health organisation in Great Britain has indicated that Perez may reappear on the paddock in case of a negative test and may therefore also come into action during the second Grand Prix at Silverstone. It would be a huge disappointment for Hulkenberg, who was unable to take action on Sunday last week due to a problem with the car.
