Last Thursday, the FIA organized a so-called eConference in which the World Motor Sport Council (FIA, Liberty Media and the F1 Teams) could vote on a number of changes for the regulations of 2020 and 2021. The following are to the most important changes.

For 2020, adjustments have mainly been made in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus with a view to getting the championship underway as successfully as possible.

For 2021 the most important adaptations have to do with the technical regulations. These are some further restrictions on the number of 'software updates' a team can perform in a season and the number of fuel and oil specifications that can be approved per year. This is intended to further reduce costs.

In addition to these adjustments, the provisional calendar for 2020 has now been officially approved. This not only applies to the calendar of Formula 1, but to all racing classes for which dates are known so far. The complete list of events can be seen here.
