F1 2020 season start: Marko sees opening races in Austria as the best solution

Helmut Marko can't start Formula 1 fast enough. The Austrian would have liked to start in Australia, but now he sees enough opportunities for a race or maybe more races in his own country.

''Of course, the Formula 1 community is now afraid of getting infected and is doing everything possible to live as isolated as possible," Marko said in an interview with Autosport.com. According to the top man of Red Bull Racing, it would be a good idea to start the season in Austria and then organize a second race right away.

Marko sees opportunities

''Everyone is now afraid of getting infected and that's good, because everyone is very careful. In my opinion we can start in Austria and the F2, F3 and Porsche Supercup can just be part of that. That should be a clear example for the sport'', Marko is convinced, although he wants as few people per team as possible.

''We have to keep the staff of all teams as limited as possible, so there is a small chance that it will be cancelled. However, it is clear that we are dependent on the safety rules in Austria. We are therefore working hard to find a solution that is feasible within those rules'', concludes Marko.
