Claire Williams says the Williams team are far better placed in 2020 than they were in 2019 as we come towards the end of the second test with Williams completing several laps with few problems. The team endured a terrible season last year but things are looking far more positive in 2020.

With George Russell and Nicholas Latifi at the wheel, Williams will be hoping for more than the single point they scored last season, and by turning up to day one of testing, they've already done better than last season.

Claire Williams was pleased with the team's progress, telling media in Barcelona including GPBlog: "We are much better in shape than last year. However, it is still early to judge performance. It's going to be interesting the next two days.

"We have been incredibly happy with the Williams staff. They fought last year, this year that gives extra morale. The past twelve months have been transformation. We're putting that spirit through this year."

Williams adds that she is very happy with her driver line-up, despite neither of them having an F1 point to their name: "No, I'm very happy with this year's lineup. Nicholas is doing great, but unfortunately he has lost time because of the problems with the engine.

"He is a little older than average rookie, he has a lot of experience from junior classes. What I've seen is he's capable of being in the raceseat this year, he showed that last year. Russell is very mature, he showed that. They did a great job, gave good feedback so far".
