Lewis Hamilton supports proposed weekend structure change

The Japanese Grand Prix was interrupted by Typhoon Hagibis meaning that qualifying and the race were both on Sunday. Many fans and pundits actually preferred the way the weekend was structured and want it to be used at more Grand Prix's in the future.

One of the drivers who also supports the idea is Lewis Hamilton who believes that this new weekend structure is better for drivers and fans. The Mercedes driver put out a poll on his Instagram and interestingly 72% of those who voted wanted to see the change to the Formula 1 weekend structure made.

With next years extended season many would support the idea of a shorted weekend so more time can be spent at home.

However, it is unlikely that this change will go ahead as Ross Brawn has said Formula 1 has no plans to change the weekend structure. However, if enough fans push it then Formula 1 will listen and supply what is being demanded.
