Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo believes that the team can still finish above McLaren and take fourth place in the drivers' standings. This is despite Renault currently being 33 points behind with just five races remaining, leaving them with an uphill challenge to achieve this.
In the last two races, Renault has only been able to add three points while McLaren has brought a further 18 points in this time.
" We can finish in fourth place, Monza showed that in a weekend everything can change," Ricciardo said.
"But we need both cars to reach the points.
"Without a doubt, they are still the favourites, but we have to try.
The Australian will look to eat into this deficit when the racing returns in Japan next weekend.
