Sergio Perez is renowned for taking a shock result, you only have to think back to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last year, where he secured an unlikely podium, and he is looking to cause another shock this weekend in Melbourne.
Perez has been with Racing Point, formerly known as Force India since 2014 and will be hoping that new investment can push him to another solid season.
In Racing Point’s press release, Perez said: “Races in Melbourne tend to be unpredictable and that could give the opportunity for a special result.
“It’s a cool track to drive, especially when you’ve missed the thrill of racing for so long.
“It’s still too early to say where we will be in the pecking order, but the first weekend should give us some indications for the season ahead.”
