Miami Grand Prix set to reach chequered flag

We've known for some time how the Miami Grand Prix wouldn't take place as soon as Formula One bosses had hoped for. But now it looks like the deal has hit the red lights for good. The Miami City Commision will meet on Thursday (tomorrow) and will vote on a proposal to indefinitely defer the resolution to enter the agreement between Formula One and South Florida Racing for at least the next 10 years.

This, by many, will be seen as a major step back in Liberty Media's fresh plans to change and improve the landscape of F1. Rumours are that the track layout was not welcomed by the Formula One group. Current, well established US racing bodies were also not keen for F1 to start competing on their patch.

The latest developments about the growth of F1 in the US comes with a possible Las Vagas race. This hasn't taken off yet, but according to Motorsport week, it's the primary target.
