It’s not uncommon to see a bit of rain at the Belgian Grand Prix, but F1 drivers could be facing some wet sessions this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps.

The rain is scheduled to mostly affect qualifying, and as we saw in Hungary, a wet and unpredictable qualifying sessions can lead to some strange results, with Daniel Ricciardo failing to escape Q1 in the wet/dry confusion.

To add, temperatures are set to be low, which will mean the track will take longer to dry.

Friday practice is expected to be dry, with the small chance of rain, with race day on Sunday the same.

However, Saturday is expected to start with rain, affecting final practice, and the rain could hover around until qualifying is set to begin.

Spa has always been known for its unpredictable weather, most memorably in 1998, when there was a first lap pile up, involving half the field, and later in the race leader Michael Schumacher smashing into the back of David Coulthard and his angry reaction!
