Steiner isn't expecting a repeat of Monaco woes in Hungary

Guenther Steiner doesn’t expect the Monaco woes to be repeated in Hungary despite similar track characteristics. He suggests the upgrades on the Haas car should be enough to remove any potential challenges.

The VF-18 has improved drastically since Monaco moving up to 5th in the contractors' championship as they looked best prepared to take on Renault. Steiner claims his team are ready for the final weekend before the summer break.

“I never go in beaten to a race already,” Steiner said in Haas pre-race preview.

“We know what happened in Monte Carlo. We analysed that one and we know where we ended up. We know the reasons, and they will not happen in this race. We might not be as good as on the high speed-tracks, but I don’t think we’ll be really bad.”

For once in Germany, Romain Grosjean scored points while team-mate Kevin Magnussen failed to get into the top 10. Steiner is well aware of all the consistency problems. The Austrian claimed that his bubble was about to burst with Grosjean following many on-track incidents, but the Frenchman has since improved.

“Our car and our drivers are good enough to get good results at all the tracks,” he added.
