Max Verstappen won convincingly at the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon. The Red Bull Racing driver was in the lead for almost the entire race, which put him in an interesting position.

The Dutchman is in the top ten of drivers who have led the most laps in the history of Formula 1. Verstappen's total of 1636 laps after the Dutch GP is already approaching Fernando Alonso's total.

Alonso only managed 133 laps more in his life. Besides the two-time world champion there are two other drivers in the list who are still active. Sebastian Vettel is in third place with 3499 laps, while Lewis Hamilton is at the top. The other drivers are Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart.

Hamilton holds firm position

If Verstappen ever wants to top the list, the driver still has a long way to go. The difference between Verstappen and Hamilton is almost 3800 laps. However, the reigning world champion is expected to have plenty of years left in Formula 1, so it is not inconceivable that it will happen one day.
